With a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Communication at the Berlin University of the Arts, she developed a distinct artistic style, focusing on the moving image and poetic storytelling at its core. In her filmic creations, such as Ablaze in Flames (2021), she highlights marginalised voices, offering them a platform that emphasises their gravity and frames them with aesthetic care. Nsiama believes in the power of making the invisible visible through a combination of honesty, tenderness, and fierceness. Her graduation project, Burning Lies (2023), feels like a natural continuation of her artistic vision - an embodiment of the themes she holds dear, presenting them with stark emotional depth and visual precision for her audiences. Her works have been selected and shown at multiple film-focused platforms like the Durban Film Mart (South Africa), the Lift-Off Global Network (Amsterdam, London, Berlin), and the Short Nights of Berlin (Kino Central, Berlin). In addition, she also embodies her passion for filmic work in front of the camera lens. Her versatility in both directing and acting allows her to not only deepen her storytelling but also to explore different perspectives and modes of expression. With prioritising authenticity in every part of her creative endeavours she strives to create spaces where emotions and conversations can flourish, even the hard ones. As a Black woman in a predominantly white, male-dominated industry, Nsiama navigates and challenges limiting norms to carve out new, safer spaces.
